RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board receive the Budget Statement for the seven-month period ending July 31, 2006, in accordance with Police Services Board By-Law #04-01.

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the contents of this report be received by the Board for its information.

13. Electronic Ticketing Program

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board enter into a contract for the one-time purchase of the Electronic Ticketing hardware and software as presented by Advanced Public Safety in response to Request for Proposal #P-06-05 pursuant to the approved budget for a value of $121,070.52 CAD, plus applicable taxes, with an annual support maintenance cost of $16,003.00 CAD; and

  2. That the Chair be authorized to execute a contract subsequent to Recommendation 1, subject to prior review by York Region Legal Services.

14. Provision of Telecommunication (T1) Lines

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board enter into a five-year contract, with an option to renew for an additional five years, with FCI Broadband for the provision of Telecommunication Lines necessary for the Voice Radio System, at a cost of $47,880.00 per annum, including all applicable taxes; and

  2. The Chief be authorized to execute a contract subsequent to recommendation 1, subject to prior review by York Region Legal Services.

15 Sale of Prisoner Transport Vehicle

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board approve the sale of a six compartment 2000 Ford E450 Prisoner Transport Vehicle in an "as is" condition to the Ontario Provincial Police in the amount of $20,000.00, plus applicable taxes.

16 Course Reimbursements

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board reimburse members for the costs associated with approved courses identified in the attached Appendix - Recommended Course Approvals, subject to proof of successful completion, as required in either the Senior Officers', Uniform or Civilian Working Agreements and the Board's Course Reimbursement Policy; and

  2. That the Board not approve reimbursement for the courses identified in the attached Appendix - Courses Not Recommended, on the grounds that the courses would not be beneficial to the police service.

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board receive this report in compliance with its Conference Attendance and Travel Expense Policy.

19 Police Services Board Award for Civic Leadership

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board establish the Police Services Board Award for Civic Leadership to honour citizens for their stellar leadership in promoting good will, understanding and tolerance, and community safety.

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board adopt the amended policy on Supervision in accordance with the Adequacy and Effectiveness of Police Services Regulation.
