PRESENTATIONS

4. Mr. Fred Defina, Race Director, 2006 Bob Hartwell Runner's Challenge will make a presentation to Chief of Police Armand La Barge in appreciation for the support and assistance of the York Regional Police in making the 5th Annual Hartwell Challenge a success.



4(a). Chief of Police Armand La Barge will make a badge presentation to Inspector Anthony Cusimano on his promotion to Superintendent. (Also, see Chief's Report Agenda Item #10.)



5. Superintendent Brad Law, Staff Sergeant Chris Bullen and Sergeant David Mitchell will join Chief of Police Armand La Barge for a presentation on Traffic Enforcement and Road Safety.



COMMUNICATIONS

5(a). Geraldin Tai, (June 27, 2006) Acting Appointments Officer, Selection Systems and Appointments Unit, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, advising of the reappointment of Mr. Joseph Persechini as a Member of the Regional Municipality of York Police Services Board for a further period of three years effective June 7, 2006.

6. Lynne Kennedy (May 19, 2006) President, Canadian Association of Police Boards Invitation to the Canadian Association of Police Boards Conference in Edmonton, Alberta, August 16 to 19, 2006.

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board receive the Budget Statement for the five month period ending May 31, 2006, in accordance with Police Services Board By-Law #04-01.

11. Course Reimbursements

RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board reimburse members for the costs associated with approved courses identified in the attached Appendix - Recommended Course Approvals, subject to proof of successful completion, as required in either the Senior Officers', Uniform or Civilian Working Agreements and the Board's Course Reimbursement Policy; and

  2. That the Board not approve reimbursement for the course identified in the attached Appendix - Courses Not Recommended, on the grounds that the course would not be beneficial to the police service.
