POLICE SERVICES BOARD TRIBUTE AND PRESENTATION

Tribute to Mrs. Barbara Munro for her dedicated service to the Regional Municipality of York Police Services Board, the York Regional Police and the citizens of York Region from 2004 to 2008.

PRESENTATIONS

5.1

Chairman Danny Wheeler will make a presentation to Superintendent Karen Noakes for her excellent quality of service to the Board in her position as Executive Officer to the Chief of Police from 2005 to 2008.

5.2

Chairman Danny Wheeler and Chief Armand P. La Barge will present badges to newly promoted Inspectors of the York Regional Police.

Chief Armand P. La Barge and the York Regional Police team will make a presentation on Search and Rescue and the Air Support Unit.

1.         That the Executive Director of the Police Services Board

            communicate to the Commissioner of Finance and Treasurer the             Board’s anticipated budget approval dates of September 24,

            2008 for the 2009 Capital Budget and November 26, 2008 for the

            2009 Operating Budget.

Voice Radio System Maintenance Contract Renewal

RECOMMENDATIONS

29

1.               That the Board authorize entering into a two-year radio system service maintenance agreement with Motorola Canada Inc. of a value not to exceed $257,751.99 in 2009 and $270,639.59 in 2010, exclusive of all applicable taxes; and

2.          That the Chairman be authorized to execute the contract, and any renewal, subject to approval of the Region’s Legal Services as to form and content.

Contract Extension – National Helicopters Air Support Unit

RECOMMENDATIONS

33

1.         That the Board authorize the two-year contract extension agreement with National Helicopters Incorporated for the provision of Pilots and Service Maintenance for AIR2, based on a minimum of 900 contracted flying hours per contract year; and

2.          That the Chief be authorized to execute the contract with the    amendments as noted, subject to approval of the Region’s Legal Services as to form and content.

1.               That  the Board approve the amended Protocol for the Sharing of Information ; and

2.         That the Board forward the amended Protocol for the Sharing
