Chairman Danny Wheeler and Chief Armand P. La Barge will make commendations to Erin McDonald, Joann Lightfoot, Inspector Mark Brown, Police Constable Andrew Dobson, Police Constable Scott Hunter, Police Constable Shane Spina, Police Constable Paul Middendorf, Police Constable David Laus, Police Constable Bruce Valentine and Ontario Provincial Police Constable Kevin Yeoman for their heroic actions in dealing with a mentally unstable individual who threatened to kill himself by detonating a bomb on February 25, 2008.

PRESENTATIONS

Chairman Danny Wheeler and Chief Armand P. La Barge will make a presentation to retired Superintendent Randy Horne for his years of dedicated service to the York Regional Police and the citizens of York Region.

5.2

Chief Armand P. La Barge and his team will make a presentation on Homicide and Death Investigations.

Renewal of York Regional Police/RCMP License

of Occupation Agreement

RECOMMENDATIONS

1.                 That the Board renew the License of Occupation Agreement with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police from September 1, 2008 to August 31, 2013, for their radio system repeater equipment on the Egypt Tower on the same terms and conditions, including the annual fee, as contained in the current agreement dated September 1, 2006; and  

2.          That the Chief of Police be authorized to execute a renewal of the License of Occupation Agreement, subject to approval of the Region’s Legal Services as to form and content.
