BOARD MEMBERSHIP

The Regional Municipality of York Police Services Board consists of seven civilian members as follows:

  • Head of Municipal Council (i.e. Regional Chair)
  • Members of Council appointed by resolution of Council
  • Members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council
  • Individual who is appointed by resolution of Council, who is neither a member of Council nor an employee of the municipality

If you wish to serve as a provincial appointee on the Regional Municipality of York Police Services Board, you must apply through the Public Appointments Secretariat, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. Note: You can't become a member of a Police Services Board if you're a judge, a justice of the peace, a police officer, or a person who practises criminal law as a defense counsel.
