Expert Panel on Police Officer Deaths by Suicide
The Board received a report on the Ontario Chief Coroner’s review of police officer deaths by suicide. An expert panel consisting of mental health professionals, a serving police officer and a retired Chief of Police developed a report which includes a number of recommendations including the creation of a standing body that will address deficiencies in mental health supports for police members in Ontario and will recognize and assist with the mental health and well-being of police officers.
