Nicholas Memme
Provincial Appointee
Mr. Nicholas Memme was appointed to the Regional Municipality of York Police Service Board by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario for a three-year period, effective March 23, 2026.
Nicholas (Nick) Memme has dedicated his life to community service, including a distinguished 34-year career with the Toronto Police Service beginning in 1977. He began his career as a uniform officer and went on to hold a variety of investigative and administrative roles across diverse Toronto communities, including Parkdale and Jane/Finch. Throughout his career, he was known for delivering effective, community-focused policing.
In senior leadership roles, Nicholas oversaw hundreds of uniform and civilian members, demonstrating a strong commitment to operational excellence and team development. His career culminated in his appointment as Staff Inspector in charge of the Employment Unit, where he was responsible for the recruitment and hiring of all uniform and civilian personnel for the Toronto Police Service.
Nicholas is the recipient of numerous community and professional awards, including the Somalian Immigrant Aid Organization Recognition Award, the African-Canadian Christian Alliance Appreciation Award, the Human Rights and Race Relations Gold Medal Award, and the Hospital for Sick Children Volunteer of the Year Award. He has also received several Toronto Police Service honours, including the Chief of Police Excellence and Teamwork Awards, as well as the Governor General’s 30-Year Exemplary Service Medal.
He is a graduate of Seneca College (Law Enforcement) and Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson), where he earned a Certificate in Management and Community Studies.
Deeply committed to community service, Nicholas is the founder of the Heart to Heart Charity Gala in support of the Hospital for Sick Children. He has also contributed to fundraising efforts for the Victim Services Program of Toronto and served as a member of the B’nai Brith Special Advisory Council to the League for Human Rights. He is also a member of ASIS International.
Since retiring in 2011, Nicholas has founded and now leads Concerux Inc. – Security Solutions Group, where he provides security consulting and services with a focus on professionalism, cost-effectiveness, and ethical practice. He continues to guide his work with a steadfast commitment to integrity, honesty, and mutual respect.
Born and raised in Toronto to parents of Italian origin, Nicholas has been married to his wife, Lori, for nearly 40 years. They reside in the Thornhill area of York Region and are proud parents of three married children and grandparents to five grandchildren.
