Policies
The Board is responsible for setting policy which provides direction to the Chief of Police. The Chief of Police is responsible for administering the police service and overseeing its operation in accordance with the objectives, priorities and policies established by the Board.
The standards that police services must meet are set out in the Police Services Act and regulations such as the Adequacy Standards Regulation. This Regulation is designed to provide all Police Services and Boards with the structure needed to ensure the effective delivery of policing services in Ontario.
