Soon to achieve 40 years in policing, Chief Jolliffe has received numerous distinctions including the Officer of the Order of Merit for Police Forces, Police Exemplary Service Medal and 30 Year Bar, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
- Deputy Chief André Crawford is being re-appointed to the position of Deputy Chief for a two-year term ending November 6, 2020. - Deputy Crawford is the recipient of the Police Exemplary Service Medal and Bar, the Chief of Police Award, and the Human Rights and Race Relations Centre Gold Medal Award.
- To support the growing safety and security needs of York Region citizens and to address the increasing complexities of the police operating environment, the Police Services Board has approved the addition of a third Deputy Chief of Police. Recruitment for this position will begin immediately.
“Like many communities across Ontario, York Regional Police is anticipating significant changes to policing over the coming years.
